What's All This Then?
Hello and welcome to the exciting new blog Lovethebigtrip from the writers of New Puce Review, a blog for the color puce, and Cleats Are Neat, a review of cleats in the modern world.
Seriously, you see we already have one post. We haven’t said much about the big trip at all, which makes this blog pretty lame. But we’re dedicated to making improvements, especially if it will get us linked in Cleats Are Neat.
So this blogging thing is new to me, but I understand there are style rules that Jen and I ought to follow. Getting to the meat of the matter seems to be the main guideline for blog posts and they should not be more than 500 words. Well, Jen and I plan to do one better; we plan to get to down to the bone, nay to the marrow of our experiences. We’ll suck out the marrow from the bone of each experience, and spit it electronically into this blog. Mmmhhh, bloggilicious.
On one of our first dates, Jen and I discussed travel. We both decided that if we were indeed going to be together, then a big trip would be in our future. Otherwise, our nascent relationship to that point might as well be kaputski.
So, five years later here we are, having quit our jobs and packed our stuff into a storage unit. Our condo is sold. Our stuff is packed for a trip across country to New Jersey, from where we will leave the car, and from where the penultimate flight to leaving the country departs. We’ve got everything we need … well, except for the stuff we left at Dave’s house, the stuff we still need to buy, and anything else we forgot.
Our plan is to drive across country, stopping at various points of interest, and visiting our families. The car goes to the bottom of the driveway at my parents’ house in NJ, and then we fly to Miami. We’re in Miami one day visiting our friend Autumn before flying to Honduras for two weeks. Then to Buenos Aires and Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji before coming back to NJ sometime in late March.
So that’s it for now. It’s a new post, with up-to-date information on what we’re doing. Our next post will be our trip so far including, but not limited to, the excitement found in Utah!
PS: Hey and this post is only 413 words long! Marrow that!
